Hopeful Futures was a two day event exploring the future of creative technology in Bath and Bristol. After five years of experimentation, Bristol + Bath Creative R+D invited their communities to come together to answer: what is the future of creative technology in our cities?

Taking place over two days in Bath (Bath Spa Uni's Locksbrook Campus) and Bristol (Watershed), artists, technologists, academics and producers were asked to explore our collective futures, discuss how to build more equitable economies, and consider how we can really understand audiences.

Bath + Bristol Creative R&D commissioned Swans Events to produce Hopeful Futures which involved over 30 organisations and individuals in two different cities. From VR and app development; to immersive installations and unique soundscapes; the event was structured for the audience to go on a journey to test, play and be challenged.
