The first satellite launch from UK soil will take place from Spaceport Cornwall in Newquay in the near future. To celebrate this landmark moment, the UK Space Agency commissioned Continental Drifts to manage a two day outdoor free event outside the Science Museum.

The event opened by Science Minister Nusrat Ghani, saw families take part in a range of space-themed activities, from a VR experience to trying a real astronaut suit, while a 72ft life-size replica of the rocket was displayed on the road.

Continental Drifts approached Swans Events to collaborate on the pre-production and event management of the UK Space Agency LayuncherOne event; which included road closure procedures, local residents communications, coordinating the activities programme supplied by Science Museum, Imperial College and Natural History Museum.
